Although the product ordered was out of stock I was pleased with the quick response to this and am satisfied with the alternative sent.

The items were exactly as described, priced fairly, packaged very well and delivered super-promptly. I will definitely turn to PenFountain for future purchases.
The refill I was searching for had the best price at penfountain.com - subject to delivery being speedy, I can see me revisiting the site in future as it appears to have an excellent selection of quality items.

While buying a fountain pen can be considered old fashioned - I disagree profoundly as an older member of the digital iPad/iPhone/iMac community, owning such a pen is a major bonus for personal thought in written communication. However whole it may be thought by some to be old fashioned, web site design is crucial. Penfountain's website is frankly, horrible. I do have one minor gripe about the product. The price advertised was showing a reduction from £83 to £43 but it actually came with a shop tag on saying £63. Also I asked for a medium width nib and it came with a fine, however it turns out this was inconsequential.I don't know how much business Penfountain do through their webiste, but I reckon it could be increased by 25% as a minimum - as a web savvy user I almost gave up, you just happened to have what I wanted, but only just, and i found it, must before giving up.
up to this point and prior to delivery, everything seems ok. The website however looks 15 years old and is horribly out of date and well behind the times. It isn't easy having a site with so many lines of product but this is really hard work to navigate. Totally lacks modern user friendliness and is devoid of modern web practice and expectation.
